Hi! I’m Lee.
Last name Uehara***.
Right?!
So let’s just keep it at Lee, shall we?

For years, I had the idea of a podcast stored in the bowels of my mind. I even asked friends if they wanted to join in, and with a couple of maybes and a lot of “no” responses, I decided to jump in head first one Wednesday evening in February 2018. Et voilá!

With a background in education, photography, broadcast and print journalism, and a whole lot of career changes, I bring a unique take on life – my take AND my questions for people who appear on the show.

I think you’re going to want to subscribe because we’re going to have fun, you and me. So join me in meeting regular folks who do interesting things – and get my tips for resourceful living. Come on in to The House of Lee NYC!

My work as a broadcast and print journalist has appeared in The Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, and many other newspapers via The Associated Press, where I worked on the NYC Metro Desk a while back. I have covered everything from September 11th and Hillary Clinton to the game of cricket and Japanese-character tattoos, oh my!

With my background in education; family events productionphotography and design; motorcycling and bicycling; parenting; journalism/publishing; EFT Tapping; and letting my curiosity take lead, I invite you to join me as I find out more about, well, everything that crosses my path.

I also happen to be the co-founder of AAP (the Asian American Podcasters Association), which is home to the GOLDEN CRANE Podcast Awards and Podthon.com as well as the founder of the NYC Podcasters Network, an indie collective. And, I’m a sought-after speaker, host and moderator, having given talks at Podcast Movement, Podfest Expo, Asian American Arts Alliance, Podthon, The Podcast Academy and much more. I’m also the co-host of PodLab, a monthly podcasting industry show from Podfest.

My Likes: Gudetama! (more like obsessed); non-fiction and how-to books; making stuff; movies; laughing; simple things; good food; working on my little Youtube channel; and cold weather.

My Dislikes: hot weather; waiting in line to eat; stupid-woman-lead-characters in books and in movies; cooked zucchini; and tea or coffee that drips onto my cup saucer – it’s just so annoying.

***In Japanese, Uehara・上原 is pronounced WAY-HA-RAH.
